ONLINE & PARTICIPATIVE: Jumpstart your literature review writing (Natural and Physical Sciences, including Health and Engineering)
Whether you have just registered, are starting out, have not written a word yet, or want to know more about literature reviews, Honours, Masters and PhD degree students at any stage of their writing are welcome to our online workshop.
Input on what a literature review is, and how to decide what sort of one to construct, within your thesis. You will be guided in the use of online search tools with a brief discussion about reference packages available. Together we will find peer reviewed articles for your literature review and you will be facilitated and guided to start writing the review. The writing will raise issues and questions and the facilitator will assist with these to develop confidence in you writing your literature review.
There will be a brief overview of some techniques and tools for mapping the “shape” of the literature – finding out when your topic was written about and how the literature developed over time, in what countries or disciplines – and identifying the most highly cited or most prolific writers on your topic and the key journals discussing that topic. This knowledge will help you tell the story of the development of literature on this topic.
