ONLINE: Postgraduate Well-being 101: Mindfulness Practices for enhanced Mental Health & Academic Performance

About this workshop

This webinar aims to introduce mindfulness as a tool to help postgraduate students stay fully present in mind and body while completing their academic studies. Research has shown that integrating mindfulness-based stress reduction practices into one’s daily routine could lead to improved cognitive function, better emotional regulation, and a greater sense of overall well-being and satisfaction. Mindfulness is moment to moment, non-judgmental awareness that one cultivates by paying attention. In a fast-paced academic environment where deadlines loom large and expectations run high, cultivating mindfulness can serve as a powerful tool for managing stress, enhancing focus, and promoting overall mental resilience. Learning how to stay in the present moment while learning to befriend one’s emotions may well be the best tools one could adopt to prevent procrastination and to manage feelings of self-doubt. The webinar also includes a 15 – 20-minute introduction to the Creating Calm Course © and toolkit by Memorability ® that could help you to develop core brain skills to cope and excel as regular practice. Creating Calm © offers tools for calm when your mind seems too busy and does not require you to sit still or “empty your mind.”

This webinar is the second offering in this new series and we hope to expand it even further to aide you on the path to academic success.  Please be sure to complete the evaluation after attending, as your feedback and input will help to shape this and future offerings in the series.
