IN PERSON: Developing an Argument (Science)

About this workshop

This workshop will introduce students to the principles and practices of effectively interrogating the literature in preparation for developing strong academic arguments:

  • Telling and selling your research story
  • Conceptualising an argument
  • Analysis of the literature
  • Strategic source integration
  • The language of an argument

This workshop (3 of 4) can be attended as a ‘standalone’ session; however, it is most valuably experienced as part of the full series, which navigates through the research process.

What previous attendees have said about this workshop:

  • "Overall, the workshop was fruitful as I grasped important knowledge that I believe will help refine my proposal taking into consideration the key information that I have learned."
  • "I thought everything was well organized and the facilitator was interactive and very patient."
  • "The workshop was insightful and great."
