ONLINE: Beginnings: An Introduction to Scholarly Journal Publishing
About the workshop
What are research journals and what role do they play in helping researchers to disseminate their work? What are some of the challenges that researchers face in publishing, and what are publishers doing to address these? This webinar is part of the Author Engagement Programme which is provided through the Wiley-SANLiC publishing agreement, enabling researchers at SANLiC institutions to publish open access at no charge in Wiley and Hindawi journals.
The topics to be covered are:
- Introduction to journal publishing
- The author journey, from finding a journal, through submission to publication
- Publishing ethics
- Effective writing
- The peer review process
What previous attendees have said about this workshop:
- "I am currently completing my research and will apply the knowledge gained to find appropriate journals, start the publication journey and avoid predatory journals (a large stressor!)."
- "The knowledge will help shape the articles I am currently working on and those I will write in future to enhance the choice of the journal and to make my academic journey in respect of research successful."
- "It was a fantastic workshop. A little long, but I was interested throughout."
