ONLINE: Navigating Research Writing - (30 October to 9 November)
Join us for the next iteration of our Navigating Research Writing (NRW) course, which runs from the 30th October to the 9th of November 2023.
Normally a week-long face-to-face course, this will now be online via Zoom over a period of 2 weeks from 9am to 2pm Monday to Thursday. Navigating Research Writing is open to all postgraduate or prospective postgraduate students and researchers.
We aim to help you:
- Understand and articulate your research in an exploratory written product of your choice (e.g. concept note, proposal or literature review),
- Develop a research identity in dialogue with and exciting group of experienced researchers,
- Learn how to make use of databases in the library
- Make arguments and sustain a strong writer's voice, and
- Complete on-line writing tasks to reflect on your research experiences.
- You will also have the opportunity to join a Just Write session each day.
These tasks prompt you to rehearse or revisit ideas towards your final submission. Course facilitators will provide feedback on these products.
There is a small fee for the course, R600 for UCT students and R1200 for external participants. A small number of sponsorships are available.
